For the last month, Ben & Jerry’s West Coast Truck has been rolling through Oregon, serving ice cream flavors from the company’s new Core line throughout the state. (See the Core Tour blog detailing the adventures here.) As part of that tour, the West Coast Truck stopped by the Ecotrust building in Portland—home to Sustainable Harvest’s headquarters—on a Thursday night in late July.
Ben & Jerry’s not only buys Relationship Coffees for its ice cream, but it’s also a fellow Certified B Corporation. The Core Tour has been visiting other Oregon B Corps throughout the month and highlighting them on the blog—Sustainable Harvest is featured here. Ben & Jerry’s wanted to incorporate other B Corps into its Ecotrust stop, and we happily set up a Sustainable Harvest table near the truck to serve cold-brew coffee.
With throngs of people gathered for a performance by Portland band the Builders and the Butchers as part of Ecotrust’s Sundown Concert Series, we served our Rwanda Buremera coffee roasted by local company Nossa Familia. (Learn more about Sustainable Harvest’s efforts in Rwanda here.) Many concert attendees stopped by the Ben & Jerry’s truck for ice cream, then came to the Sustainable Harvest table for a splash of cold brew over it.
It was a great event, and we were extremely happy to partner with Ben & Jerry’s in celebration of B Corps.
