When the 2014 Global Coffee Report Leaders Symposium kicks off Wednesday in Melbourne, Sustainable Harvest® founder David Griswold will be in the thick of the action.
David will be a panelist in the 3 p.m. session ‘Direct Trade Debate.’ His 20-minute presentation, titled ‘Transparency on a Large Scale,’ will examine how Sustainable Harvest’s® Relationship Coffee Model uses transparency to improve the supply chain, whether through sharing business information, promoting a common language of taste, or convening collective action platforms.
Also on the panel will be Andres Latorre of Latorre & Dutch Coffee Traders; Santiago Pardo of the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation; and Dave Makin of Axil Coffee Roasters. The panelists join a roster of industry experts speaking throughout the day (see the full list here.)
The Symposium will serve as a predecessor to the Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE), which takes place Thursday through Sunday. The global tradeshow will feature the World Latte Art Championship and other international competitions, 150 exhibitors, and some of the world’s best coffees.
